Question: How Does the Random Drawing Work?
Answer: Applications are first screened to ensure they meet the qualifications, then they are distributed amongst six geographic regions. Winners are chosen by a computer-generated random lottery drawing for each region. No one country within each region may receive more than 7% of the available diversity visas for that year.
