Below is a list of immigration chat buddies: some people who can
help and/or people who need help, as well as those who just like to chat
about their own experiences or discuss immigration procedure, policy and
current events. Browse through the list to find a buddy. But read these instructions first:
Note: All times
are PACIFIC TIME
When it is noon Pacific Time, it is 3pm Eastern Time, 2 pm Central Time, 1pm
Mountain Time.
Note: Including an email address when you page someone allows them to contact you if they are unable to chat.
You may
want to page more than one person, to make sure you get someone. Allow 10
minutes for someone to arrive.

patient with a volunteer chat buddy if they are unsure of something; they are
here to chat, make friends, and of course help, if they can. Conversations
here are casual in nature and should never be construed as legal advice

MINIMIZE YOUR
SCREEN WHILE YOU WAIT: It may take a few moments for people to get to the room.
If you want to do other things while you wait, you can shrink the chat room window
and put it in the corner: position your mouse on the edges of your browser
window until you see an <------> arrow,
then drag the edges of the window inward, so that the chat room becomes a small
square in the corner of your screen. Make sure the corner that is showing is
the one with the names of chatters in it, so you can see when someone arrives!

When someone does enter, look at the 3 boxes in the upper right hand corner of
your browser window. Click the middle box with the picture of two boxes
overlapping and your window will go back to its original size: presto, time to
chat!
