Is ALIPAC Losing Support?

From Jennifer McFadyen, About.com GuideNovember 18, 2009

"Only 12 days remain in our funds drive. ALIPAC has never failed to reach our minimum goals before but we are in danger of not reaching the mark unless we receive a new and strong wave of donations immediately."

That desperate-sounding message was posted on the anti-immigrant Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC) website this afternoon and sent via "emergency backup e-mail system." Is one of the largest anti-immigrant groups in the country running out of steam? They may be.

The "Tea Parties Against Amnesty and Illegal Immigration" held this past weekend were not what you'd call a rousing success. "Several thousand" people attended tea parties nationwide, ALIPAC President William Gheen reported, likely the same 5,575 supporters who signed up on the event website. According to news reports, crowds ranged from a few dozen to a few hundred in each of the 53 tea parties held across the country. Those numbers pale in comparison to the thousands of people who typically come out for pro-migrant rallies. Hardly what I'd call "dramatic and encouraging" results.

"Please remember that the $25,000 we must raise by Nov. 30 is our minimal survival operations costs. Anything less and we will not be able to continue our mission into 2010."

What's that? ALIPAC might not be able to continue dehumanizing immigrants through their campaign to "control and reverse America's illegal alien population?" What a pity.

I would imagine most organizations that depend on ordinary Americans’ pitiful little dollars as contributions are hurting for money these days, with a true nationwide unemployment rate of 17 percent. Only the open-borders organizations have plenty of money — that would be the formidable billions donated by the Mexican government, the uber-rich Latin American drug cartels who benefit the most from open borders and illegal immigration, and the Soros globalists looking for world government and an endless supply of cheap labor. It’s truly a David and Goliath scenario.

You open borders shills always use the “anti-immigrant” label, when you know full-well that ALIPAC and it’s supporters are opposed to *ILLEGAL* immigration and it’s disasterous effects on our nation. Don’t you ever tire of that see-through smear tactic?

street campaigns whether conducted by LULAC or ALIPAC are merely cheerleaders. I have organized street protests and sit ins and the point was never how many on the street. The objective is getting the organization in the news. I have seen events held by the other side at cost to them which resulted in equal time for the Americans with a handful of our attendees. The politicians realize from resulting phone calls that those who vote oppose amnesty. Thanks for creating an opportunity to let Americans know about ALIPAC.

Thanks…… Time to make a donation.

I wonder if the Mexican drug cartels finance blogs like this one in addition to donating money to open borders organizations and bribing politicians. I wouldn’t put it past them.

SimonJ, if ALIPAC really supportted legal immigration then you guys wouldn’t be so up in arms regarding Dobbs’s support of amnesty right now. Gheen himself stated, in the recent radio interview ith Dobbs, that you guys don’t want mexican immigrants becoming legal because you don’t want them to have the right to vote. No matter what nice little label you stick to your group to make it sound pretty and friendly, your actions and words expose ALIPAC for what you really are.

And La Raza exposes itself for what it really is day in and day out: an ethnocentric racist organization hiding behind the civil rights mantle.

What is Dawn talking about?

Looks like McFadyen got this projection all wrong. ALIPAC made their goal and seems to have had successful rallies.

There are a bunch of people on the wrong side of the illegal immigration issue that just can’t resist making false and fanatical claims about successful immigration enforcement oriented organizations.

Fact is, they are successful, they are representing the majority and I don’t see them giving up just because some liberal articles are written about them.

Not too shabby when you consider how much of a mess this economy is in. How about this month? ALIPAC was trying to raise $30,000 and actually went way over their goals. Looks like Obama and the open border nuts are driving membership and donation up even in bad times.
