DV-2010 Green Card Lottery Online Status Check is Now Open

The server is soo busy that it is almost impossible to check the status of my application. But lets hope i win

Why can’t I enter this website?Is the server too busy?

I finally managed to log in and got as far as being asked to input a code from a CAPTCHA?? image. I wonder if the server overload causes a delay which alters the validity of the code after a certain time has elapsed. Finally I was given a server error message and told to come back later.

Oh MG,is everyone checking their status? They making the sever so bussy.

if anyone manages to get past the captcha and onto a result instead of “system error. please try again later”, please let us all know guess it will take some time before the server copes with the overload

This is really frustrating…. They should have some respect for people who have been waiting for so long for the results…. It is not that difficult to make the results available on a decent capacity server…

Guys u all did not recieve postal mail? that’s why u do want to check status ? may be we’ all did not win anything

I don’t know what’s wrong. I couldn’t able to check my status.Pls let me know, is it happening all over the world or only Burma.

It’s probably happening everywhere…I’m in New York and can’t check either, the site times out.

My sister was notified by mail and was sent instructions and information on fees. But when I cheked her status online, it says- HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED. Is that possible?

If you get “HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED” does that mean it will now never be selected?

I understand they actually select about 90,000 i.e. it is oversubscribed and that even if you do get “selected” you may be well down the list and never get a visa.

The positive(?)things about having this online status check are:

1) if the online check shows you are selected you are forewarned should any postal irregularities occur re delivery of the official letter.

2) if the news you have not been selected is definitive you can at least move on or try again this year.

hi, i have been writing my info all day. And when i click on next will load and take me back to the same page with my information still there.why is that!

if you guys watch carefully…the status check is woefully wrong. try inputing say..a wrong date of birth year in there with an incorrect surname. leave the confirmation number intact. it will still send the not selected message.

Question: isn’t the year and last name supposed to be used in the validation?

is it possible to have any information by sending an email them? i just simply dont have this number and have no idea if i did it form right.

Adam, I think I’m having the same problem that you are having. I enter all the information and hit next, but it’s still the same page with no further instructions or anything at all. Does anyone else have the same problem?

I tried with Google Chrome browser and it didn’t work. I had to use Firefox to get passed the initial information page (only to find out I was not selected..)

I tried 3 times already, still the same message ENTRY HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED, then I tried my sister’s. I got her notification letter 3 weeks ago and it still says ENTRY HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED

Ha anyone receive a POSSITIVE ENTRY, just to make sure cos I’m sure that I’m doing everything right. Why would the server say Entry not selected when my sister was selected. I need to be sure cos I moved and just started getting mail

I recieved a letter in the mail in June telling me i HAD been selected – i checked online last night and was shown id NOT BEEN SELECTED… i called the KCC to ask whats going on and they told me i had been selected and that they were having problems with their status checker – leave it till Monday people…. (so i was told)

oh, another thing, GOOGLE CHROME does not work – use FIREFOX instead – ive not yet tried it with Internet Explorer but know for a fact it’ll work in Firefox 3.5 – of course the servers would also show as being busy – what do you expect with 9 million people checking there status

Does “YOUR ENTRY HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED” and “YOUR ENTRY WAS NOT SELECTED” the same thing? If one’s entry “HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED”, it means there’s the chance or possibility that it might be SELECTED a little bit later, may be in a few days or weeks time? Some clarifications, please!!!

I used my friend’s mail address for the 2010 dv. 3 weeks ago he called and told me about the good news that i was selected. Then i asked him to send me the package, in the process of mailing the package lost before reached my place. Well, that’s just one less smart person for them. By the way, I’m 13 and I formatted, my HDD. Just recovered the stupid file with the code. Need to tell parents this. I’m too smart for a dumbass country like that anyway.

The E-DV website is asking for 16 digits code number and i have only 14 digits code number how do i access it then?Also is this statu checking for those who were not sent the first notification or is for those expecting a second mail?Thanks
