Angel Island Immigration Station

A period display in the detention barracks at the Angel Island Immigration Station in California. Better known as the "Ellis Island of the West," nearly 175,000 Chinese immigrants passed through the immigration center. The $60 million restoration is near completion after being closed for four years. The newly restored barracks will be open to the public for the first time, beginning February 15, 2009.
