Immigration in the 2008 Elections
It's just a month and a half before the elections, and immigration should be one of the hot issues on the campaign trail. Shouldn't it? Then why does there seem to be such a lack of discussion on the topic? The truth is, the subject is too hot.
The reason the issue is taking a back seat to the economy, energy and Iraq is neither candidate wants to alienate the voters on either side of the divide. People are either staunchly for immigration reform that includes a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, or they want to hang a "No Admission" sign on the border because allowing the current immigration rate to continue will only strain the resources of this great country. The candidates only mention immigration reform in passing, and while both candidates have committed to tackling the issue in their first year as President, neither wants to touch the issue with a 10-foot pole and jeopardize votes in key states.
Nonetheless, immigration is a key issue for many voters. I've put together an Immigration Elections Guide where you'll find a variety of perspectives on the candidates' stance on immigration to help you make an informed decision at the polls, as well as some voting information for newcomers.

To whom it may Concern My name is Billy Inman an Proud Father of Dustin Inman (My Buddy) thank you for the Opportunity to hear from Me , On June 16 2000 Fathers Day Weekend My Family’s life was Changed forever By an ILLEGAL ALIEN Gonzalo Harrel Gonzales , He Killed my Son Dustin and our Family Dog Lucky and put my wife in a wheel chair. We didn’t get to go to OUR Son’s FUNERAL because they didn’t know if we were going to live, my wife Kathy was in a Coma for four weeks an in the Hospital From June 16 till September 13 of 2000 I was in coma for about a week and then had to do the Rehab Until August . I Thank God every Day for My Wife + Life . The Doctors said she would be a Vegetable if she lived she still can’t walk or do things like she use to but she is still my Wife with lots of love for our Son,Me, an our Family. We still try Things daily with hopes of being better they now are talking Deep Brain Stimulation on her now She has been in so much Pain since the Accident finally not Hurting quite as bad now EXCEPT the Hole in OUR Hearts that wont be Healed . There is Nothing I can Do to Bring Dustin Back .But I Don’t Want You or Someone You Know To Go Through What I have Been Through.
It has been more than Eight Years since that Terrible Day and Guess What ?!! Gonzalo Harrell Gonzales Still Hasn’t or Can’t be Found . He has Three Children here somewhere one of which I am Pretty Sure that we Paid for, If not all three with our Tax Dollars. We can do this for his Family Through our Taxes , LAWS Etc. then He can do this to My Family or Your’s with no ACCOUNTABILITY is just not Right I don’t Care where you come from.
Not many Ask Why or How It Happened !!! Illegal Immigration
American Citizens are Losing Jobs or Being Sent out of the Country Because of Illegal Immigration, Or So Called Trade . There is more being done now than their was in 2000 But then their was 9-11-2001 that Killed Thousands of People, HOW many People Killed by Illegal Aliens ? The Number Grows Daily. It is so Sad that You our Government known’s these problems but are doing no more About it . I feel You have another plan For the U.S.A. I wonder why there is so much Opposition to someone who wants Our Laws Enforced, All Ready on the Books, to feel safe in the Greatest Country in the World ,OUR Country The U.S.A. That You make Laws For . We need to keep America the Greatest place on Earth to keep people wanting to come here LEGALLY and keep America being the Best on Earth . I feel if this one Problem ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION was Fixed that a-lot of other Problems would fix their selves in just a little time, All I think it will take is Just SHOW some Examples of what will happen to those who are here Illegally by Enforcing LAWS that You Made on Employers and the Aliens themselves .
If You can’t Fix it now, how will the Future Elected Officials , Kids And Grandkids be able to ??.
What Will the United States Be Then ? People have lost Faith in the System an now the Elections are Questionable With Electronic, Advanced + Absentee Ballots Especially since more Foreigner’s are Voting Now .
